St. James Altar Society is a group of dedicated ladies who, under the patronage of Our Lady of Grace, make use of their God-given talents to enrich the experience of the celebration of the Holy Eucharist in every mass. We play a very important role in the Liturgy in our church by providing assistance to Father Jose as far as taking care of the Altar, Sanctuary, Baptistery, Sacristy, and making sure his vestments are cleaned. Also, sacred vessels and linens are made ready for and picked up after every mass, to name a few.

OTHER DUTIES AND ACTIVITIES:

Pray the Holy Rosary daily in honor of our Blessed Mother during the month of May. 

All parishioners are invited to join us.

Mass is offered for all members on the 2nd Sunday of the month at 10:30am.

We take part as lectors, Extraordinary Ministries of Holy Communion, ushers, taking the gifts for the offertory.

Assist in serving meals for deceased parishioner’s family members after the funeral.

We help in the fall festival silent auction booth.

Decorate the church for the different Eucharistic celebrations during the church’s Liturgical year: wreath during Advent, Christmas tree, manger scene, Ash Wednesday, Palm Sunday, the Sacred Triduum.

We sell poinsettias to decorate church for Christmas, sell lilies for Easter.

Sell religious articles, purchase altar supplies, hosts, candles, altar linens, etc.

Fundraisers: Sell delicious meals after both masses on their assigned Sunday, have bake sales, and raffle a Mother’s day gift basket.

We clean the Sanctuary, Altar, baptismal font, holy water fonts every week, wash and iron altar linens, provide gifts and letters of encouragement for Confirmation candidates during their retreats.

 ALTAR SOCIETY MEETINGS ARE EVERY 1ST MONDAY OF THE MONTH FOR FELLOWSHIP AND TO PLAN AND DISCUSS CURRENT AND FUTURE EVENTS.
